Superintendent's Message

I would like to thank you for seeking information about our district through our website. The Board of Education, administration, staff and community will be working collaboratively over the next year to evaluate and consider changes to our mission and vision.  Currently our board members, administration, staff and the community are working together to meet the challenge of the District's motto, Engage, Educate, Empower: Effingham.

 

On June 6, 1948, the area schools consolidated into a public school district that encompasses 127 square miles. Unit 40 operates four elementary schools, a junior high, and a high school. The Board of Education strives to provide the most robust learning environment throughout the area by providing low class sizes and a wide range of educational opportunities. Effingham Unit 40 students are successful in their educational endeavors and that success is a direct reflection upon the excellent group of employees that make up the District and the working relationship with parents and the community!!

 

Effingham offers a multitude of opportunities for our students. We are excited about the capabilities and the positive effect these will have on our students. It is our hope that each child will utilize the provided resources to achieve their personal and academic goals. District 40 offers programs from early childhood to young adulthood. District 40 is an excellent school system with an outstanding reputation.  The reputation is a direct reflection upon the collaborative efforts of our board members, administration, staff and the community!!  Because we UNITE as ONE TEAM the opportunities for our children are infinite.

 

WE as ONE will continue to provide a first-rate education to our students in an ever-changing world.  We invite you to come out and visit, meet our staff, and tour our facilities.
