Updated Information on Unit #40 Board of Education meeting on Monday, March 23, 2020 at 6:00 p.m.


Saturday, March 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.


The March 23, 2020 Effingham Unit #40 Board of Education meeting will be held as scheduled.  The board meeting process will be altered in accordance with Governor Pritzker’s Executive Orders 2020-07 and 2020-10.  Steps taken will include:


·     The Board of Education meeting will be held at the Unit #40 Board Office at 2803 S. Banker St., Effingham, IL at 6:00 p.m.

·     Board members may attend the meeting either in person or by electronic/phone communication (per Executive Order 2020-07).

·     The Unit #40 board meeting will be streamed live on Youtube.  Please use the following link to access the meeting:     

·     Per Executive Order 2020-10 there will be no more than ten (10) individuals (including board members and staff) allowed in the board meeting room. 

·     The District understands the hesitancy of many to attend a public meeting in the present environment.  Individuals who do not wish to attend the meeting due to COVID-19 concerns will still have the ability to participate during the Public Comment portion of the meeting by emailing your public comments to by 3:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020.  A District administrator in attendance at the meeting will read your comments to the board members attending in person or electronically.

·     However, if you choose to physically attend the meeting, the District asks that you inform the Unit office of your attendance by 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2020 by calling the following telephone number (217) 540-1502 and leaving a message or email .  Please be mindful that only ten (10) individuals will be allowed in the meeting room at one time.  Individuals will need to wait outside the building or in their vehicles untilthe public comment portion of the meeting (immediately following the Pledge of Allegiance which will occur at 6:00 p.m.).  Individuals wishing to address the Board in person will be allowed into the board meeting one at a time.  Individuals waiting outside the building or in their vehicles to address the School Board may view the meeting by accessing the following link
